| This is also sort of a user rating so mods if this needs to be moved feel free, otherwise enjoy the story So Im going through with a 5 speed swap, and found a guy who had all the components for a swap on craigslist including a rebuilt transmission he was going to sell that he claimed was rebuilt by Z1 a few months ago. Killer deal I thought! All the parts needed for $800 including the transmission! Right after I initially talked to him I went ahead and ordered the Clutch, Flywheel, and Driveshaft needed that didn't come with it. Well, I talked to the guy and asked if he had any proof that Z1 had rebuilt it. I assume that when people do something that big that they would keep the receipt, but he claimed he doesn't keep receipts. Sketch I thought. I went ahead and said that I would contactZ1 and ask if they had any records of it, and the seller said go ahead. Well, I didn't know if he expect me to just trust him and not investigate, but im glad I did I contacted Russel at Z1 and he told me that they stopped selling rebuilt transmissions.... OVER 2 YEARS AGO. OVER 2 YEARS AGO! I contacted the seller again who could not give an explanation and just said straight out "if you want to buy it go ahead but if not I have others. You have been so fu$#ing picky" What a classy move. Moral of the story is, please make sure that you verify what they say is true either through receipts or other proofs. I hope no one around the Bay Area buys from him. What he is doing is straight up fraud (intentional misrepresentation of facts under UCC-622 and yes I take alot of law classes) and now I'm in a position to find someonewhere else to get my parts.
